Rookie question because I am a rookie. LOL,
what is the purpose of aftermarket cam gears? What does it actually do for the performance? Thanks for humoring my stupidity.

cam gears allow you to adjust the position of the cams opening and closing in relation to the crank shaft. So that you can have them open sooner or later than stock. This allows you to adjust the power band and also allows you to take out some of the over lap so if you have a supercharger you dont bleed off as much boost. and if your Natural it allows you to tune the power band so that you make peak hp higher in the RPM range.
